How we work out padel prices

A padel court is booked whole, usually by 4 people. To compare venues fairly we put every price on one basis: an hour on court, per court and per player.

Where prices come from

From the venue's own pages, or its booking platform (Playtomic, MATCHi, ClubSpark and similar), which counts as the venue's own. Directories and aggregators are used only to find venues, never as the source of a price. Each price is stored as its own row, in the venue's wording, with the page it came from and the date we read it. We keep a saved copy of the page.

What "worked out" means

  • Per court, per hour: if the venue publishes a price for the whole court, that is the figure. A booking longer or shorter than an hour is scaled pro rata, and labelled.
  • Per player, per hour: a court price divided by 4 players, because published prices assume doubles. If the venue publishes a per-player price, that is the figure, and the per-court number is that price times 4.
  • A number the venue published is labelled "published". A number we calculated is labelled "worked out", with the row it came from.

Peak, off-peak, members

Peak and off-peak appear only when the venue labels them or gives the times. Member and non-member rates are never mixed: the headline figure for a venue is always for someone who is not a member. Coaching, juniors, packages and socials are listed but never feed the hourly comparison.

Live booking prices

Some venues publish no rate card, only prices inside the booking system. Where that is the only source we look at one peak slot and one off-peak slot, never book or log in, and show the price as "seen on the booking page" for that date. These move with demand, so treat them as a guide.

Dates

Every page shows when it was checked; the price index shows the oldest check on the page. Prices that have an end date are removed when they expire.
